BIOGRAPHY

Karim Dridi made his first short films as a child. It was Zoé la boxeuse, presented in several festivals, including the Grenoble short film festival, where it won a prize, that made him stand out.
In 1995, he directed his first two feature films, Pigalle, in competition at the Venice Film Festival and Bye-Bye, selected in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes and awarded the Prix de la Jeunesse.
He made a documentary on Johannesburg, Impression d'Afrique... du Sud, in 1996 and another on Ken Loach the following year. He shot Cuba Feliz, a musical road movie selected at the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes. In 2003, he shot Fureur, selected at the Berlin Film Festival. In 2007, he directed and produced Khamsa, selected at Locarno.
He directed Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet in The Last Flight shot in the Sahara desert in 2009. In 2013, he directed and produced the documentary Galilee Quartet, which won first prize at Medimed, the Mediterranean documentary market in Sitges, in 2014.
His latest feature film Chouf, shot during the summer of 2015 in the northern districts of Marseille, was released in October 2016. It was selected for the Cannes Film Festival.
