SYNOPSIS

The five most ruthless right-hand men in Pinochet’s dictatorship are serving out sentences amounting to several hundred years in a luxury prison at the foot of the Andes, for their crimes against humanity. The place has a pool, gardens and aviaries where they are watched over by guards who feel more like their employees. When one of the inmates gives a TV interview, his declarations fuel an unexpected backlash. The fear of a possible move will make the men do everything in their power to stay put, unraveling the delirium and the violence.

BIOGRAPHY

Felipe Carmona is a filmmaker and playwright. His work has been supported by the Chilean Film Promotion Fund in various occasions. He directed three short films that were awarded in Chile and abroad. He was a part of Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires, and a Fundación Carolina fellow in Madrid to finish the script for his first film, PRISON IN THE ANDES, which has had a widely awarded development and production process, receiving support in Chile, Brazil, Argentina, France, Spain and Mexico.
